Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has launched a smart app for visitors to attend the Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) and Dubai Solar Show (DSS) 2020 from around the world, without the need for physical travel.  Visitors can tour the exhibition to learn about the latest smart technologies and innovative solutions in renewable energy, water, and sustainability. They can also participate in workshops, meetings, and specialised seminars with global experts in green economies, smart cities, innovation, and sustainable development.

DEWA is organising the 22nd WETEX and the 5th DSS on a virtual platform under the directives of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and the patronage of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance, and President of DEWA.

HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, Founder and Chairman of WETEX and DSS highlighted DEWA’s efforts to harness its state-of-the-art digital infrastructure to help companies; public and private organisations; thousands of exhibitors, visitors, and participants; officials and decision-makers in energy, water, renewable energy, environment, and sustainability to share experiences, sign deals, and build partnerships. This maintains WETEX and DSS as the largest pioneering exhibitions in water, environment and energy, in support of the UAE Green Growth Strategy.

The 3D carbon-neutral version is the first of its kind in the MENA region, with a new experience for exhibitors and visitors from around the world. The exhibition halls include a reception area, main entrance, water hall, energy hall, virtual awards ceremony, sponsors platform, free B2B meeting halls, B2G meeting halls, innovation hall, and sustainability hall.

Visitors can log onto the smart app or website of the exhibition, create a profile, and select a personal photo or avatar to create a lively atmosphere. Visitors can view the agenda and map to access any area quickly, the list of exhibitors and speakers, with their biographies and contact details. DEWA enables visitors to conduct live chats as well as reserve a video conference room that takes up to five persons at a time.

WETEX and DSS are held from 26 to 28 October 2020. Registration is available on the WETEX mobile app or website www.wetex.ae/Registration
