The Egyptian Banking Institute (EBI) has succeeded in delivering e-Learning programs to more than 16,000 trainees, employed by 13 banks, for more than 19,000 training hours during the current fiscal year. This success comes in line with EBI’s continued efforts to deliver its training services to bankers. Cloud computing technologies were adopted to facilitate the safe delivery of courses remotely, over the internet and the adoption of these innovative technologies provided huge capabilities that will be able to meet the needs of the Egyptian banking sector.

Mr. Abdel Aziz Nosseir, EBI’s Executive Director, shared the Institute aspirations; saying, “EBI aims at expanding the provision of e-Learning services as one of our strategic goals during 2020. The efficiency and effectiveness of e-Learning for the trainees adds to its importance, and with more than 20 different programs currently available and delivered to 13 banks, facilitated over more than 19,000 training hours, more is expected.”

The e-Learning service includes several programs like, “Principles of Information Security,” “Anti-Money Laundering and Financing Terrorism” and the e-Learning “SANS Security Awareness” program.

“We continue to implement a plan to replace, renew and develop all training aspects within the institute, and 2020 will be the year of continued digital transformation, facilitating the education process and training, while contributing to achieving more flexibility in communicating with trainees,” confirms Mr. Nosseir.

Mr. Nosseir, also, added that EBI takes into account the needs and nature of trainees and aims at facilitating the interaction process between them and instructors. e-Learning at EBI is characterized by the quality and efficiency of the design and the multiplicity of information display methods. The use of modern technology, as an instructional method, ensures effectiveness and safe interaction during the learning process, allowing trainees the freedom to learn according to their pace. More importantly, adopting e-Learning means an ease of follow-up and good management of the education process.

EBI launched its e-Learning service platform in February 2018, as part of the institute’s vision and strategic goal to be the center of excellence, learning and a knowledge hub. Availing e-Learning products for professionals in the banking sector depends on the nature of the written, spoken and visual text, which the trainee can access directly from his computer. This enables trainees to attend training programs, listen to the instructor’s explanation, participate in discussions and interact directly with the content. On successfully completing the training course, trainees are able to download their certificates. They get the privilege to have access to their training records of whatever e-Learning courses they have attended through EBI.
