In light of its ongoing partnership with Cairo International Film Festival’s 44th edition, Kwai, the region’s leading short-video platform, will be bringing a variety of exciting activities and surprises to life – both on and off the red carpet – in order to create an exclusive, wholesome experience for its community and to continue to inspire the next generation of actors and filmmakers.

The platform launched “Film on Kwai” on November 5, 2022, an in-app campaign that will continue until November 15, 2022, challenging its audience to share a video using the #FilmOnKwai hashtag that showcases their cinematography skills and reflects their passion for movies and cinema. By doing so, they will be shining a light on some of the most celebrated scenes, characters, and milestones of the industry.

With creativity, authenticity, and high-quality production as a top priority, and in line with its mission to always empower emerging talents, Kwai will be providing the creator behind the highest trending video of this campaign with the opportunity to attend the closing ceremony of Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF).

This initiative will enable the winner to get an inside look at the festival, engage with their favorite celebrities, and be inspired, moved, and entertained as they continue to create and share the stories they love.

As the official social media partner of CIFF, which is set to kick off on November 13, Kwai will also be leading several activations on-ground.

The platform will be placing a glambot at the event, a high-speed camera that will capture slow-motion footage of some of the biggest stars of Arab cinema. Additionally, building on its previous successful partnership with one of the most influential social media personalities in the region, Kwai will once again be joining forces with Ahmed Rafat, i.e., “Moze3 El Share3,” who will be challenging different celebrities to play “2ool Ameme,” an Egyptian memes card game, bringing his sarcastic and comedic style of interviewing to the red carpet.

Kwai’s involvement in CIFF, a pioneer in the entertainment space and one of the most well-renowned film festivals historically, provides a significant measure of the role the platform plays in empowering its content creators and accelerating their journey to stardom and success. It also serves as a testament to its position as a key player in the worlds of media, entertainment, and culture.
