IBM today announced its collaboration with Export Development Bank of Egypt (EBank) to establish a bank-wide data governance and integration foundation using IBM Cloud Pak for Data and IBM watsonx. Implemented with IBM Business Partner MegaSoft, the deployment enables EBank to connect, govern and manage data across its operations, while retaining control within the bank’s own secure environment.
As EBank has expanded its digital banking capabilities and range of products and services, its data landscape has grown across core banking, cards, customer relationship management and other systems. Establishing a trusted, enterprise-wide view of this data enables the bank to strengthen data security, make more informed decisions, better understand customer needs and develop more relevant and seamless banking services, while creating a foundation for advanced analytics and future AI adoption.
At the center of the deployment is IBM Cloud Pak for Data, deployed on premises within EBank’s secure environment, with IBM watsonx.data supporting data integration and pipelines. The platform brings together data governance, quality, cataloging, privacy validation and end-to-end data lineage capabilities, helping EBank work toward a trusted and governed view of its data.
The on-premises deployment supports EBank’s digital sovereignty objectives by keeping data and processing within the bank’s own secure environment, enabling greater control over its data and operations while helping it address its security, regulatory and data-residency requirements, alongside existing data protection and masking controls.

With IBM Cloud Pak for Data providing the underlying platform, the new foundation will support EBank’s plans for an enterprise-wide data warehouse and more advanced analytics, enabling deeper and more unified customer insights.
