YouTube hosted its first Pop -Up Space in Cairo last week which was attended by more than 100 Egyptian and Arab YouTube creators.
The YouTube Pop-Up Space lasted for four days and also included a program for the Next-Up Contest winners who included emerging creators from Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Sudan.
Diana Baddar, Head of YouTube Partnerships for the Middle East and North Africa commented about the Pop-Up Space saying “creators are the heartbeat of YouTube and supporting them has long been one of our most important priorities. We are excited about the growth of Egyptian content on YouTube, which has been spearheaded by a diverse and growing community of creators from different parts of Egypt. This Pop-Up Space was a hub where creators experimented with new formats and ideas, and were inspired to continue creating engaging and powerful content on their channels.”
The event included the following A workshop dedicated to female creators in Egypt and the Arab world to help grow their channels and expand their reach and Production workshops about the best lighting, how to frame camera shots, and other production basics.
Content workshops topics like channel strategy, and how to uplevel content and Keynotes from inspiring creators who have already found success such as Hadeel Marei, an Egyptian creator who is also a full time dentist.
Connecting with other members of the YouTube creator community in Egypt and the YouTube Partnerships team.
Previous Pop-up locations include Bangkok, Madrid, and Mexico. The event in Cairo was organized to help local content creators with more than 10,000 subscribers to grow on YouTube and enhance their skills, as well as reach new levels of creativity.
