Jumia celebrates 7 years of success In Egypt

    Jumia, the leading e-commerce company in Egypt and across the region, celebrated its 7th anniversary with more than 3000 invitees. During the annual event that was held at the Cairo International Exhibition Center on …, Jumia was keen on thanking its employees, customers, vendors, and partners including the media, for their collective contribution to the success of the company’s operations in the country. 

    “We have experienced a gradual influx of customers as well as a huge increase in the numbers of Jumia’s App download. We have also succeeded in building bridges of trust with our customers in Egypt, and we continue striving to do the best in providing better services to new and existing customers at competitive prices and high quality,” noted Hisham Safwat, Jumia Egypt’s CEO.

    Describing the success of the company since its establishment in Egypt as extraordinary, Safwat remarked that Jumia is seeking to expand its payment methods, reduce the burden on the customers, and offer safe and comfortable online shopping experience.

    The event was presented by the Radio Presenter Khaled Eleish, with a number of celebrities such as the Egyptian singer Mahmoud El Leithy and Sharmoofers band performing. 

    The event also saw the official launch of ae partnership strategy between KONKA and Jumia. The partnership aims to combine Jumia’s platform and KONKA’s technology, to deliver the best products and prices to the customers in Africa.

    KONKA has been part of the African market for more than 5 years. In the future, Egypt will be considered as a starting point to increase sales and brand’s market share by taking advantage of the free trade agreement “Gomasa” and the free trade area of the Arab Union, to increase the volume of business in Africa and the Middle East.

    Jumia aims to facilitate the online shopping and purchasing capabilities of Egyptians, which contributes to the growth of e-commerce in the country compared to traditional retail. This will also offer customers more opportunities to choose and compare between products and prices. Jumia further aims to provide easy delivery of products, anywhere in Egypt, to support the promotional and marketing plans for Egyptian products.
