Connect by Axis showcases the latest security offerings while engaging with Egyptian industry

  • Axis Communications, the world’s leading networking video and surveillance technology company, held its second Connect by Axis roadshow in Egypt. The first event held in Johannesburg, South Africa, on 28th March 2023, was a resounding success. The two events form part of a series that will showcase the company’s latest technologies, explore current trends, and engage with security industry stakeholders across the MEA region.

Hosted by the Axis team in Cairo at the JW Marriot Hotel on 3 May 2023, attendees included members of the Axis partner ecosystem, Axis product end-users, industry associations and thought leaders, and members of the press.

“The second Connect by Axis roadshow resulted in incredibly informative discussions and the strengthening of meaningful, long-lasting business relationships. The event in Cairo is just the beginning. With an entire series of events scheduled in cities across the region, we’re prioritising relationships in a new and exciting way, and showing how integrated security solutions are the secret ingredient to a successful enterprise,” said Ettiene van der Watt, Regional Director for Middle East and Africa at Axis.

Serving as both a conference and technology showcase, Connect by Axis brings security industry stakeholders together to network, confront the industry’s most pressing challenges, and discover the latest security and surveillance solutions offered by Axis and its extensive family of trusted partners and distributors. Discussions were centred around cybersecurity, the role of AI, edge computing and analytics in security, critical infrastructure, smart cities, and sustainability.

“Axis has long enjoyed a close relationship with Egypt as an established market and continental economic powerhouse. Events such as Connect by Axis demonstrate what we can do for our citizens, businesses, and institutions on a national scale. We’re dedicated to imparting knowledge, sharing ideas, and giving security industry stakeholders a valuable platform to explore the latest trends and challenges they are facing. Through communication and collaboration, we can work together to plant the seeds of a new tomorrow,” said Anan Elyan, Axis Regional Sales Manager.

In addition to the conference, attendees could access the Transformation Zone, an exhibition space where they could experience and view demonstrations of the latest Axis products and partner solutions. Leading Axis Technology Integration Partners and Distributors - including Milestone, Genetec, Securelogiq, Avidbeam, FF Group and Mobius - were on hand to answer questions and offer insight into their respective solutions.

As part of the Transformation Zone, Axis focused on the following strategic areas and showcased the relevant solutions and products.

    • Extended Video Products: EX cameras, radar, thermal, and body-worn solutions.

    • End-to-End Solutions: Access control based on the Axis Camera Station video and access management software.

    • IP Audio Solutions: Speakers, microphones, and network audio management and tools.

    • Secure Insight: Understanding metadata and analytics, and using dashboards and search functions to accelerate forensic investigations.

“Previously, businesses may have treated enterprise security and surveillance as an afterthought. Today, there’s no doubt they play a fundamental role in operations, forming part of a living, breathing ecosystem of technology solutions working together towards a common goal. Integrated security enables enterprises to make the best decisions for themselves and the world around them. By collaborating with our partners and demonstrating how our solutions can optimise businesses, Axis is working hard to make Egypt and the surrounding region smarter, more secure, and more sustainable,” Anan concluded.

The next Connect by Axis roadshow event is scheduled to take place in Abu Dhabi, UAE, on 17 May.
