During the Prime Minister’s meeting with the Minister of Communications: Signing memorandums of understanding with 30 international and local companies to build the capabilities of young people enrolled in Egypt’s digital generations initiatives.

    Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, stressed the close role of the communications and information technology sector in advancing all other sectors and achieving the dimensions of sustainable development in Egypt.

     

    This came during the Prime Minister’s meeting with Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology. To review some of the Ministry’s work files, the Minister of Communications and Information Technology reviewed some of the efforts made by the Ministry to advance the promising technology sector in Egypt, indicating that the Ministry of Communications is keen to develop strategies and visions in a manner consistent with national goals related to empowering the private sector, developing and enhancing human capabilities, In addition to enhancing international cooperation paths to exchange experiences.

     

    In this regard, Dr. Amr Talaat confirmed that the end of the first phase of the “National Artificial Intelligence Strategy” is approaching, explaining that the second phase of the strategy is being prepared to be compatible with the rapid developments in the field of communications and information technology, as this phase aims to improve the “National Artificial Intelligence” indicator. By implementing a set of initiatives across 6 pivotal pillars: governance, enabling environment, information architecture, data, human resources, and technology.

     

    The Minister also noted the launch of the Egypt Digital Innovation Centers and the Center for Technological Innovation and Entrepreneurship, in partnership with the Chamber of Information and Communications Technology Industry, with the aim of supporting entrepreneurship activities in Egypt and linking them to technology and manufacturing. This is in order to stimulate local startups and enable them to face any challenges so that they can meet the needs of the industrial sector, thus contributing to achieving Egypt’s Vision 2030.

    The Minister of Communications and Information Technology pointed to some initiatives, seminars, and programs that aim to hone the technological skills of young people, including the launch of the “Digital Egypt Youth” initiative by the National Telecommunications Institute, as well as a free training course on “Mastering Object-Oriented Programming in the C++ language,” presented by the Institute. Information technology, as well as the Pioneers of Digital Egypt Initiative, and others.

     

    Dr. Amr Talaat also pointed out that, as part of the Ministry’s keenness to exchange international experiences, the Ministry signed, during this December, memorandums of understanding with 30 international and local companies to build the digital capabilities of young people enrolled in Egypt’s Digital Generations initiatives, in addition to hosting Egypt, represented in the Ministry of Communications. and Information Technology, and in cooperation with the African Union Infrastructure and Energy Commission, a capacity-building workshop on the implementation of the Continental Data Policy Framework for African Union countries.
