On the sidelines of the annual conference of the Kasr Al-Ainy Faculty of Medicine, H.E. Mr. Suresh K. Reddy, Ambassador of India to Egypt, stated in an exclusive interview with «Alam Rakamy» that, more than 600 Indian students are currently pursuing medical studies in Egypt. He noted that many of them are among the top performers in their faculties and have proudly represented India abroad.

Ambassador Reddy expressed his pleasure at being in Egypt, leading his country’s diplomatic delegation, and emphasized the longstanding and historic friendship between India and Egypt. He underlined the importance of enhancing academic cooperation between the two nations and expressed hope that more Indian students will be able to come to Cairo—especially to Cairo University—to pursue medical education.

In his concluding remarks, Ambassador Reddy extended his sincere gratitude to the faculty members of Cairo University for their continuous support and care for Indian students studying abroad. He also praised the academic excellence of these students and encouraged them to strive for further distinction in both academic and scientific fields, aspiring to become future leaders in India’s medical sector.

The ambassador stressed that innovation is a cornerstone of public healthcare, as it plays a crucial role in improving patient care and ensuring broader access to medical treatment.

The conference, held under the theme “Towards an Innovative Medical Community,” was attended by several high-ranking officials, including H.E. Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research; H.E. Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population; Dr. Mohamed Sami Abdel Sadek, President of Cairo University; and Dr. Hossam Salah, Dean of the Kasr Al-Ainy Faculty of Medicine, along with a distinguished assembly of senior professors and health experts.
