Opening of the Ministry of Telecommunications Scholarship for specialized training in fiber optics

    The National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA), the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) and the National Telecommunication Institute (NTI) have announced the opening of the entry of the Fiber Optic Training Grant, which aims to train 1,500 Egyptian technicians from the specialized institutes in the field of communications and computers.

    The training will take place at the headquarters of the National Telecom Institute at Smart Village starting next September. The trainee will receive basic knowledge, practical, technical and professional experience in the development, installation, operation and maintenance of optical fiber networks. This will give the trainee a promising and distinguished career in this field.

    The grant comes from the keenness of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and its affiliates to provide competent Egyptian cadres able to meet the requirements of the labor market in this field in the light of the major national projects and smart cities that are ongoing and targeted to be implemented. Installation, operation and maintenance of fiber optic networks in residential buildings and facilities.

    A tripartite cooperation protocol has been signed between ITIDA, NTRA and NTI to implement a specialized training program to develop technical and professional capabilities in the construction, operation and maintenance of optical fiber networks as part of the Ministry's strategy to develop telecommunications infrastructure. All sectors of the country, relying on optical fiber networks, especially in the light of the national projects to be established in the short and medium term.

    The implementation of the grant included the provision of a specialized training program for training of trainers, which was implemented last September in cooperation with the international company Corning, specialized in the field of fiber optics, where the knowledge was transferred to 20 trainers through training in theoretical and practical processes and applied expertise and skills in the process of installation and installation of equipment and Installation and operation of optical fiber networks, in addition to the processing of a complete laboratory for training on the latest international specifications including the latest equipment and fiber optic.
