  • The information Technology Industry Development Agency “ITIDA” announced its participation as a strategic partner in the 2019 edition of the world-renowned Fab Conference.

Last year, Egypt was announced as Fab15 host country after winning against Canada, UAE, Rwanda, and China to be the first country in the Middle East to host the largest and flagship digital fabrication event.

The Fab conference, which has been running for 14 years, gathers makers and members from over 1,700 Fab Labs worldwide to share, discuss, and collaborate in the capacities of digital manufacturing, innovation, and technology.

The conference is another huge step forward for Egypt in the area of entrepreneurship, tech innovation and digital fabrication as it adds great value to the existing businesses and gives access for local entrepreneurs to the latest digital technologies, modern design and manufacturing techniques.

Under “Collectively Independent” theme, Fab15 aims at building strategic alliances to promote the inclusion of marginalized groups, knowledge transfer and share best practices that empower communities to solve their own problems.

The conference is taking place in two cities in Egypt including the Red Sea city of El Gouna and Cairo. The main conference is held from 28th of July to the 2nd of August in El Gouna where the graduation ceremony will be held on 1st of August.

The event includes exhibits, a long list of keynote speakers, and additional activities including fab festival, fab lab tours, and the event closing ceremony that will take place in Cairo on the 3rd and 4th of August.

Fab15 conference focuses this year on four different tracks including entrepreneurship for growth, Towards 4.0, making to learn, and design for change.
