Ali Nour El-Din, Regional General Manager for the Middle East and

North Africa at Red Hat, the global provider of open source software

solutions, said in response to a “Alam Rakamy” question about the

impact of IBM’s acquisition of Red Hat, with a total value of 34

He added, through the close cooperation between IBM and Red Hat, the

two companies are accelerating innovation by offering a

next-generation hybrid cloud computing platform, based on open source

technologies, such as Linux and Kubernetes, and the platform will

allow companies to publish data securely operate and manage

applications on premises and in private and public cloud computing

platforms.

private clouds and hybrid clouds."

which provides management of virtual machines, instances, and

OpenStack, Amazon EC2, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure, and Red

Hat OpenShift.

Open source is the default option

In response to a question "Digital World" about the company's vision

for open source software, Noureddine said, "IBM" and "Red Hat" have

deep open source values and experiences, as the cooperation between

the two companies extends for more than 20 years to make open source

the default choice for open source solutions. Modern information

technology, to include the importance of open governance and the

assistance of open source projects.

Red Hat is one of the most important software companies in the IT

industry, and Red Hat's pioneering business model has helped bring

open source - including technologies like Linux, Kubernetes, Ansible,

Commitment to developing the Egyptian market

In response to a question " Alam Rakamy " about the company's plans to

be present in the Egyptian market, the regional general manager of Red

Hat confirmed that last year we announced our readiness to open an

Egypt office, at the company's annual conference in the presence of

the advisor to the Minister of Communications and Information

Technology, and today we confirm our commitment and open an office We

have in Cairo in the New Cairo area, to be one of the 40 offices of

the company worldwide, where we were present through our local

partners, about 15 partners, especially in light of the support and

encouragement of the political leadership and the Egyptian government

to expand the process of digital transformation, which creates a large

chapter To be present in the Egyptian market, which is one of the

largest and fastest growing markets in the region.

Partnership with the Ministry of Communications

With regard to cooperation with the Ministry of Communications and

Information Technology, Nour El-Din expressed his happiness to meet

with representatives of the Ministry of Communications, especially the

aspects of encouragement and support granted by the ministry in

accordance with its strategy to build the capacity of the Egyptian

human being and enhance the digital transformation process for

government agencies, which is consistent with the company's plans to

qualify and train Egyptian cadres specialized in The field of open

source software, stressing that the company already has about 15

agreements with Egyptian universities to make its software available

as an educational curriculum for university students, and we need to

expand the completion of such agreements and activate it also through

the global “Red Hat Academy” program. open source.

He added, the qualification of students in the field of information

security was also discussed, through strengthening cooperation with

the "iTi" Institute for the Rehabilitation of Human Resources. In the

field of open source software.

Nour El-Din explained that the Egyptian cadres have 3 very strong

competitive elements to be present in the global markets, the first of

which is competence and technical skill, the second is the competitive

financial cost, and the third is the possession of diverse languages,

as it is easy to find human competencies who are fluent in speaking a

number of foreign languages besides the Arabic language, of course.
