Minister of Communications and Information Technology Dr. Amr Talaat stressed that Egypt has a competitive advantage and advantages to make it an ideal partner for German companies and companies to invest in the ICT sector in Africa and the Middle East under the leadership role of Egypt at the African level as president of the 2019 African Union. With the Arab countries, pointing out that 24 Egyptian companies, in addition to international companies operating in Egypt, the export of information technology services to Germany in the fields of software and mobile applications, and the design of electronics, and Skills training, and digital marketing; calling for more joint cooperation and investment in the telecommunications and IT sector Egyptian information in light of the availability of many components, including the geographical location and the availability of young outstanding cadres, in addition to the reforms undertaken by the government and the incentives offered by the investment law to stimulate foreign investment.
This came during a speech by Dr. Amr Talaat at the 4th Industrial Revolution, digitization and the impact of new technologies: exploring new potentials during his participation in the 22 nd session of the German-Arab Economic Forum in Berlin within the Egyptian ministerial delegation headed by Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouli.
The Egyptian Minister of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MoEHE), which have two main axes: capacity building, Through the increased efficiency of specialized education and training, while the second axis is applied scientific research, which aims to find innovative technological solutions to the challenges facing Egypt in different areas.
Talat reviewed the strategy of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, which is based on two main axes: the preparation of digital competencies within the framework of the State strategy for building Egyptian human rights and achieving digital transformation as a catalyst for the fourth industrial revolution. He said that the ministry has launched several initiatives aimed at building specialized cadres in the fields Technology, innovation and entrepreneurship, which resulted in making Egypt the fastest growing country in the Middle East and North Africa region in terms of entrepreneurship and growth of emerging companies, accounting for 22% Of the Middle East and North Africa during the year 2018, an increase of 7% in 2017; noting that knowledge is being created in the city's new administrative capital on the latest technologies, which will include research centers, science, innovation and entrepreneurship
The Egyptian ICT sector works as a cross-section to enable all sectors of the country to achieve digital transformation through the implementation of a large number of projects in cooperation with all state agencies and institutions, most notably the implementation of the Egyptian information infrastructure project, which connects more than 70 databases to provide a platform to ensure The organization and exchange of information between the state agencies to provide integrated services to citizens; stressing the efforts of the Ministry to create the environment supporting investment and necessary for the establishment of a digital society; through the provision of infrastructure and information is strong and widespread in the country, and Towards the development of the system to protect the security of cyber space, in addition to developing the legislative system in order to cope with global technological developments and regulatory frameworks in this area where the last period saw the issuance of Cyber Crimes Act, and the preparation of personal data and the Law of Electronic Commerce Protection Act.
