    Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, witnessed the ceremony of granting licenses to establish and operate call centers for seven of the largest companies operating in this field, namely Vodafone International Services, Raya Contact Center Services, Egyptian Company for Telecommunications Information Systems (Exceed), Concentrix, Capgemini Egypt, Genpact Egypt, and TTIC Egypt, in the presence of Eng. Mohamed Shamroukh, CEO of the National Telecom Regulatory Authority, and Eng. Ahmed Al-Zahir, CEO of the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), in an important step To support the growth of the call center sector in Egypt, enhancing its role as a global center for digital services and outsourcing.

    In his speech, Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, stressed that the relationship between the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and companies operating in the field of outsourcing is a successful partnership to improve the outsourcing climate in Egypt, and enhance its position as an attractive destination for companies operating in the field of outsourcing; Pointing out the ministry's keenness to open a permanent dialogue with companies and work to overcome any obstacles they may face; adding that the outsourcing industry is a huge industry worldwide, as there are nearly 200 global companies from different countries of the world working in the field of outsourcing in Egypt, and this industry is witnessing wide strides and companies' interest in establishing centers in Egypt or expanding in it in light of the availability of many competitive elements in Egypt, including competencies and trained human cadres.

    Dr. Amr Talaat added that this launch is a leap forward in light of the work to develop the outsourcing industry, and it also represents a new addition to the cooperation and permanent dialogue between the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, affiliated entities and outsourcing centers; Pointing to the efforts made by the Ministry, the National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA) and the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) to facilitate outsourcing companies in Egypt, where companies' requests to allow them to use VoIP technology were met; explaining that to facilitate companies' procedures for dealing with government agencies and communicating through a single point of contact, it was agreed that the NTRA would be the entity responsible for communicating between government agencies and outsourcing companies to facilitate obtaining the required permits and approvals.

    For his part, Eng. Mohamed Shamroukh, CEO of the NTRA, said that issuing these licenses is part of the state's efforts to attract foreign investments to the communications and information technology sector, and comes within the framework of the NTRA's strategy to enhance the regulatory environment for the call center industry in Egypt, which is an essential step to ensure quality and competitiveness in this growing field.

    Eng. Mohamed Shamroukh pointed out that the NTRA worked during the past year to develop an integrated regulatory framework that is in line with international standards and helps companies provide their services with the highest levels of efficiency. He also stressed that this regulatory framework provides specialized companies with the ability to adopt the latest technological means that support cross-border communication operations smoothly and effectively, and that the Authority continues to develop the regulatory environment to ensure the promotion of this vital sector and support Egypt's ability to attract more investments and contribute to creating new job opportunities in the outsourcing sector, which is witnessing rapid growth globally.

    Eng. Ahmed El-Zaher, CEO of the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), added that the launch of the new work licenses allows companies operating in the outsourcing industry and international call center services to use the latest technological means, including Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) technology, which contributes to reducing business costs and providing reliable high-quality services to global customers. El-Zaher explained that these procedures come within the Authority's efforts to ensure the ease of doing business in Egypt and provide a supportive and attractive work environment for global and local companies alike, which enhances investor confidence and embodies Egypt's firm commitment to accelerating the growth of the digital economy and enhancing its competitive capabilities in the field of outsourcing on the global stage.

    It is worth noting that the National Telecom Regulatory Authority issued a regulatory framework for call centers in 2023, with the aim of regulating and developing this vital sector. Many companies operating in the field of outsourcing call centers in Egypt have taken the initiative to regularize their status and apply for the necessary licenses to expand their activities. More than 10 new companies have also applied for licenses, which has contributed to attracting additional investments and establishing new call centers in Egypt, and creating increased job opportunities for Egyptian youth in the promising outsourcing industry.
