Signing a cooperation protocol between the Ministry of Communications and Luxor University with the aim of establishing the Digital Egypt Innovation Center at the university

    Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, witnessed the signing of a cooperation protocol between the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and Luxor University regarding the establishment of the Digital Egypt Innovation Center on campus with the aim of developing digital skills and supporting technological creativity and entrepreneurship for students and graduates of the university and the youth of Luxor Governorate. The cooperation protocol was signed by Dr. Hamdy Mohamed Hussein, president. Luxor University, and Dr. Heba Saleh, Head of the Information Technology Institute.

    This comes within the framework of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology’s plan to spread Egypt’s Digital Creativity Centers throughout the Republic to create a stimulating environment for technological creativity and entrepreneurship, and to prepare digital cadres that contribute to supporting and developing the communications and information technology industry.

    Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, confirmed that the Egypt Digital Creativity Centers project aims to hone the technological skills of young people and help creative youth transform creative ideas into small and emerging companies through technical training for entrepreneurs and those in charge of companies, as well as providing training in various economic, marketing and commercial aspects to enable them to Managing these companies successfully; Emphasizing that the Ministry is continuing to establish Digital Egypt Creativity Centers with the aim of reaching a center in every governorate, as 20 Digital Egypt Creativity Centers have been established so far in the governorates. Explaining that establishing Digital Egypt Creativity Centers within or near universities contributes to helping young people who benefit from the programs offered at the centers achieve integration in acquiring scientific and practical experiences from the academic community and specialized experts in the communications and information technology industry. Noting that the establishment of the Digital Egypt Innovation Center in Luxor Governorate will enhance the efforts made to localize technology in Upper Egypt and enhance the ability of the people of the governorate to establish emerging companies in the field of information technology, as well as qualify them to join distinguished job opportunities in the local and global markets.

    Dr. Hamdy Mohamed Hussein, President of Luxor University, confirmed that the protocol is a continuation of the fruitful cooperation between the university and the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. Appreciating its tireless efforts in developing the university education system in line with the strategy of the Ministry of Higher Education, which was launched in March 2023, under the patronage of Dr. Ayman Mohamed Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, using digital technology, qualifying students for the new technology required by the labor market, raising the capabilities of university youth and providing... Educational and training opportunities for them; In addition to the role of the Ministry of Communications in qualifying specialized cadres in the field of digital transformation, and creating a stimulating environment for digital creativity; In addition to its role in raising the level of technological infrastructure in universities, he pointed out that these efforts come within the plans of the Egyptian state and its vision for sustainable development 2030.

    Dr. Heba Saleh, Head of the Information Technology Institute, pointed out the current and future plans of the Institute to build the capabilities of the youth of Luxor Governorate. Explaining that the focus will be on building the skills matrix of young people from various specializations and developing technical programs and specializations. Pointing to the efforts made to qualify the governorate’s youth to work as independent professionals in the freelance market.
