Flend, Egypt’s digital SME financing platform, proudly announces that it has become the first company to officially receive the Startup Label under Egypt’s National Startup Charter.
The approval was granted following Flend’s successful application in accordance with the unified national startup definition and certification framework launched through Startup Egypt. The official certification is being issued by Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency (MSMEDA), the entity mandated to grant the Startup Label.
This milestone positions Flend at the forefront of Egypt’s newly formalized startup ecosystem. The Startup Label serves as an official government-recognized classification, affirming that a company meets the national criteria for innovation, scalability, technology enablement, and investment readiness.
Nehal Helmy, Co-Founder of Flend, commented:“Receiving the Startup Label as the first certified company under the National Charter is a strong validation of our technology-driven model and our commitment to supporting SME growth. This milestone reflects not only Flend’s journey, but also the maturity of Egypt’s startup ecosystem and the government’s commitment to creating a structured, transparent, and growth-oriented environment for innovative companies.”
The Startup Label enables certified companies to access regulatory facilitation, streamlined government interaction, and a range of incentives designed to support early-stage and scaling startups.
Flend remains committed to advancing digital financial solutions for SMEs, expanding access to finance, and contributing to sustainable economic growth in Egypt.
