Google.org, Google’s philanthropic arm, is providing a grant to the Egyptian Food Bank, which equates to over 21,000 boxes of food supplies to families of day laborers who were impacted by global pandemic, across 27 governments in Egypt.
The Egyptian Food Bank is partnering up with 5000 NGOs in the governorates to reach more of the affected laborers.
Additionally, the EFB has recently launched an online portal to facilitate the registration for the laborers in-need, which allows them to enroll themselves into a scheduled support system.
CEO at the EFB, Mr. Mohsen Sarhan also expressed his sincere dedication to this project by saying: “The grant provided by Google.org will not go unnoticed. The EFB is constantly working hard on growing its database of affected families and we are doing everything we can in order to collect the biggest possible number of people that we can help.
Every effort counts in the battle against this virus and the collateral damage that it has caused. We can only hope that other corporations and fortunate families would take Google as an example and help to perpetuate this initiative forward.”
