Ericsson has been named a leader in 5G Transport, according to the latest assessment of 5G transport portfolios by market research company, GlobalData.
Ericsson received top ratings in key areas such as capacity, scale and 5G Xhaul Support.

Ericsson 5G Transport Portfolio received the highest buying criteria ratings in the areas of Capacity and Scale, *5G Xhaul Support, Timing and Synchronization, and Power and Physical Characteristics. The company’s network slicing and programmability, and portfolio breadth were described as “very strong.”
Emir Halilovic Principal Analyst, Telecom Technology and Software at GlobalData, says: “We are pleased to announce Ericsson as a leader on the 5G Transport portfolio in our latest '5G Transport: Competitive Landscape Assessment'. Ericsson's 5G transport portfolio breadth offers the capacity and scale needed for 5G services while supporting all deployment scenarios.”
According to GlobalData, the Ericsson 5G Transport Portfolio has a rich fronthaul portfolio combining passive and active, indoor and outdoor optical options. It has wide and versatile outdoor and indoor cell site router portfolio, and very strong timing and synchronization support across router and optical parts of the portfolio.
