Digital Transformation Boosts Egypt’s ICT Market to EGP 93 Billion

    Digital transformation is driving Egypt’s ICT market to EGP 93 billion, and ensuring that organizations can find new levels of profitability, resilience, and sustainability amid the COVID-19 pandemic, industry experts announced today during Cairo ICT.

     

    Thanks to the government-led Egypt Vision 2030’s Digital Egypt vision for transforming Egypt into a digital society, the country’s ICT market has reached EGP 93 billion, according to a recent report by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.

     

    In Egypt, SAP has been partnering with many enterprises and contributing to their innovation agendas and digital transformation plans through availing the industry best practices and the platform for innovation, along with the latest advanced technological solutions.

     

    Elaraby Hospital, part of the El Araby Group, EDITA, one of Egypt’s largest food and beverage manufacturers, and leading Egyptian paint manufacturer Kapci Coatings, among others, are unique showcases and success stories with which SAP is proud of partnering.

     

    Elaraby Hospital Transforms Patient Experiences

     

    Elaraby Hospital, the largest hospitalin the Nile Delta region, is adopting the next-generation Healthcare and Patient Management solution developed by SAP and Cerner amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

     

    Elaraby Hospital has 219 beds, 24 units of ICU, 6 units of NICU units, and 6 operating rooms. On a larger scale, El Araby Group is also digitally transforming operations on SAP’s end-to-end solutions.

    EDITA Boosts Food and Beverage Manufacturing

     

    EDITA, a leading FMCG company in Egypt and the Middle East, is digitally transforming with SAP to support Egypt’s food manufacturing and distribution innovation.

     

    EDITA has gone live on the SAP Direct Store Delivery and SAP ERP Central Component solutions. As a result, EDITA has centralized its sales and distribution processes across 31 production lines, 66,000 wholesale and retail customers, and exports to more than 17 markets in the region.

     

    “This project started in January 2020 as part of Edita Information Technology strategic roadmap with a very detailed design phase, keeping all technical and business requirements from the business as a key of success, push the change management to move towards more paperless environment using E-signatures,” said IhabSelim, Chief Information Officer, EDITA. “EDITA’s requirements also included making sure of systems availability up-and-running in a very high demand operation and synchronization process; using the full end to end functionality.”
