Engineer Adel Hamed, Managing Director and CEO of Telecom Egypt,
received a high-level delegation from the Libyan International
Telecommunication Company, headed by Engineer Adel Abu Faris, Chairman
of the Board of Directors of the company, where the delegation is
visiting Telecom Egypt to discuss ways of joint cooperation in the
field of international communications and the transfer of
communication traffic between the two countries The visit comes as an
affirmation of the great confidence that Telecom Egypt enjoys in the
field of international telecommunications services, and an affirmation
of the continuity of its pivotal and pioneering role as one of the
largest and oldest telecommunications service providers in the world.
The two sides discussed means of joint cooperation in international
connectivity, including international data and voice services.
Engineer Adel Hamed, Managing Director and CEO of Telecom Egypt,
emphasized that raising the efficiency of the trans-boundary
terrestrial network is of strategic importance for international
connectivity with neighboring countries, and that this cooperation
will be reflected in improving the performance of international
telecommunications services and benefiting from the infrastructure
extending around the world for the submarine cables of Telecom Egypt.
And the transfer of international traffic to Libya, Hamed also
stressed that the coming period will witness the provision of more
communication services that serve the two peoples in the first place
and the African continent in general, especially after the company's
initiative to plan the HARP maritime system, which will link the
entire African continent with Egypt and Europe.
For his part, Eng. Adel Abu Fares, Chairman of the Board of Directors
of the Libyan Company for International Communications, said that this
visit comes within the framework of exchanging experiences between the
two companies and opening horizons for joint cooperation in the field
of communications and technology, explaining that the Libyan
International Telecommunication Company is looking forward to more
partnerships with Telecom Egypt to provide services Advanced
technology in the two countries.
