Lieutenant General Kamel Al-Wazir, Minister of Transport, confirmed that based on the directives of His Excellency Mr. President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, and the interest of the Egyptian government, represented by the Ministry of Transport, in supporting and developing transportation means and services, the Ministry of Transport has completed the final preparations and preparations to launch the activities of the fifth session of the TransMEA 2023 Transport Exhibition and Conference during The period from 5 - 8 November 2023, under the patronage and honor of His Excellency the President of the Republic.
He added that the fifth session of the exhibition will be held under the slogan “Localization of the transportation industry in Egypt,” based on the directives of the President of the Republic to work on the localization of the railway transportation industries in the Arab Republic of Egypt, and where the Ministry of Transport has communicated with a group of international companies to invest in the field of manufacturing railway transportation with the aim of Providing hard currency, transferring expertise to Egyptian workers, and exporting the surplus to African and Arab countries, where partnerships were made with 8 international companies through (memorandums of understanding / terms and conditions agreements / contracts) to establish specialized factories to localize the transportation industry.
He explained that the exhibition achieved great success during the previous sessions, which was a strong motivation for making the decision to hold the exhibition annually to review the tremendous and successive developments in transportation technology and industry. The exhibition is considered a global platform in which the Ministry of Transport, agencies and major local and international companies implementing transport projects participate, in addition to the presence of Arab and African ministers of transport, ambassadors of countries, as well as international institutions, bodies and communities.
The exhibition comes after the Egyptian government moved to the New Administrative Capital and developed and mechanized administrative work in the country through the latest digital transformation systems. As one of the features of the "new republic" whose foundations were laid by His Excellency the President of the Republic.
The exhibition is held within the framework of the unprecedented interest given by the political leadership and the Egyptian government to the transportation sector, as it is the main artery on which the state’s economic and social development programs are built. The Ministry of Transport is currently implementing a comprehensive plan to develop and modernize the elements of the transportation system, including means and networks (roads, bridges, railways). - Subways and electric traction - sea ports - land and dry ports and logistics areas - river transport) during the period from (2014-2024) with investments of 2 trillion pounds.
The most important events of the exhibition during its period from 5 to 8 November 2023 include a line-up in the external square of the exhibition for electric traction projects (high-speed electric train, light electric train, monorail east and west of the Nile, the third metro line) and vehicles developed for transporting goods by railway “dump truck - trolley”. Grains, electronic sliders, railway keys, and modern, environmentally friendly means of mass transportation: the BRT frequency bus - the capital’s buses - the capital’s taxi, a marine winch, Long Live Egypt, Fiberglass.
The Ministry of Transport’s pavilion includes 12 entities affiliated with the Ministry to display various projects, activities and services. The pavilion includes a main screen through which the most important new projects and the Ministry of Transport’s nationalization efforts to localize the transportation industry and the most important investment opportunities in all transportation sectors will be displayed, in addition to the live broadcast of a number of projects (permission for trial operation). For the third phase of the third metro line, and permission to trially operate the monorail east of the Nile from Al-Musheer station, and permission to operate the command and control center for the Beni Suef/Assiut line from Minya Tower.

Memorandums of understanding will also be signed between the bodies and companies affiliated with the Ministry of Transport with major international companies. This year’s exhibition will also witness the allocation of an innovation arena to display the projects and ideas of young people from various universities. Egyptian and technological schools.
