Adel Al-Ansari, Senior Director of Dell Technologies in Egypt, Libya and the Levant, confirmed in response to a question from “Alam Rakamy” that with the development of generative artificial intelligence, its impact on both cybersecurity and cybercrime is also developing, explaining that IT leaders are aware of the capabilities of generative artificial intelligence in imposing and attacking their systems, and the majority of them believe that generative artificial intelligence will enhance the cybersecurity capabilities of their companies, while some of them believe that generative artificial intelligence will initially provide advantages to cybercriminals.
This came during the preparatory press conference for the "Cairo ICT'24" exhibition, which is held under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, during the period from November 17 to 20, 2024. He said that the exhibition is held under the slogan "The Next Wave" to highlight the next wave of technological progress and the latest technologies, especially "AI" technologies, as the company's participation will include a wide range of solutions, workshops and discussion panels, amounting to 12 sessions, all dedicated to highlighting the latest applications of artificial intelligence.
He added that the current session of the exhibition will focus mainly on intelligence, and "Dell Technologies", in cooperation with its global and current partners, will present a set of innovative solutions called artificial intelligence to enhance the digital transformation process of industrial institutions and move to the stage of smart manufacturing, explaining that artificial intelligence will have a profound impact on cyber threats and future requirements for data protection, and cybersecurity suppliers are already looking into enhancing security solutions in the future. The global AI in cybersecurity market is expected to grow to $60.6 billion by 2028.
The Senior Director of Dell Technologies in Egypt, Libya and the Levant indicated that the growth in the field of generative AI means that the sector is undergoing rapid change, so CIOs and security leaders need to act quickly to employ generative AI technologies in cybersecurity.
Regarding Dell Technologies’ participation in the 28th edition of Cairo ICT, he said that Dell has been a key partner of the exhibition for 20 years, as it will have a strong presence through its pavilions in three main halls, including Connecta, Artificial Intelligence, and Data Centers and Computing.
Al Ansari explained that Cairo ICT has evolved to be a vital platform that brings together various sectors, especially for the government and banking sectors, with the aim of exploring the latest technical solutions that support digital transformation and accelerate the pace of business.
