Telecom Egypt signed a cooperation agreement with "Ericsson" to modernize its international portal using the latest technologies, in a way that contributes to improving the quality of its services and realizing the company's aspirations towards developing the basic network and meeting its customers' future requirements. The agreement was signed by Eng. Adel Hamed, Managing Director and CEO of Telecom Egypt, Matthias Johansson, President of Ericsson Egypt and Saudi Arabia, and Fadi Pharaoh, President of Ericsson Middle East and Africa, via video conference technology.
Under this agreement, "Ericsson" will update the international portal of Telecom Egypt based on its latest technologies, in order to enhance the quality of fixed and mobile services provided by Telecom Egypt, reduce the total cost of ownership, and provide the possibility of quickly and efficiently publishing virtual network functions, paving the way for launching models New corporate business and services.
In addition, with the entry of Telecom Egypt into the world of "Internet of Things", "Ericsson" will provide licenses for small-scale software and enhanced with IoT technology to Telecom Egypt, and it is expected that the implementation of this project will start by the end of 2020 in the governorates of Cairo and Alexandria as they are two main international centers for Telecom Egypt. .
For his part, Eng. Adel Hamed, Managing Director and CEO of Telecom Egypt, said, "The telecommunications market is witnessing rapid developments, with the requirements and aspirations of our customers increasing. Therefore, we do not stop the development and modernization processes that ensure that our customers receive the best possible communication services."
