Fortinet, the global cybersecurity leader driving the convergence of networking and security, announces its participation as a technology company in the third edition of the Cybersecurity Superhero Academy, a national initiative led by the National Telecommunications Institute (NTI) under the auspices of Egypt’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT).
The Cybersecurity Superhero Academy 2026 aims to equip more than 6,000 participants with essential cybersecurity and digital safety skills, making it one of Egypt’s largest cybersecurity awareness and capacity-building initiatives for youth and emerging talent. This year’s intake alone is expected to match the total number of beneficiaries trained across the previous two editions combined, reflecting the program’s rapid growth and expanding national impact.
Running from July to September 2026, the academy will deliver training across 17 governorates through NTI branches and Egypt’s Digital Innovation Centers (Creativa), reaching children and youth aged 8–17, university students, and graduates. The curriculum focuses on cybersecurity awareness, digital safety, safe internet usage, data protection and privacy, cyber threat identification and prevention, as well as awareness of artificial intelligence and emerging technologies.
As part of its contribution to the program, Fortinet is providing NTI with access to educational content from the Fortinet Security Awareness Curriculum, which was leveraged to develop and deliver dedicated week-long cybersecurity training. The content is designed to help participants build foundational cybersecurity knowledge, adopt responsible digital habits, and better understand how to protect themselves in an increasingly connected world.
The academy’s interactive learning model combines workshops, hands-on labs, practical exercises, projects, and collaborative group activities, providing participants with both technical and personal skills that are essential in today’s digital environment.
“Cybersecurity awareness must begin at an early age to help build a safer digital future,” said Khaled Fawzy, Senior Country Manager, Egypt, Libya and Sudan at Fortinet. “Through our collaboration with NTI and the Cybersecurity Superhero Academy, Fortinet is proud to contribute with educational resources that help young learners develop the knowledge and skills needed to navigate the digital world safely and responsibly. This initiative reflects our ongoing commitment to closing the cyber skills gap and inspiring the next generation of cybersecurity professionals and digital innovators.”
The Cybersecurity Superhero Academy is implemented through a collaborative public-private partnership model, bringing together MCIT, NTRA/EG-CERT, global technology leaders, innovation partners, and community organizations. Together, these stakeholders are helping build a sustainable national ecosystem for cybersecurity awareness, digital literacy, and workforce development.
Fortinet’s participation aligns with the company’s broader mission to advance cybersecurity education worldwide and support initiatives that foster digital resilience, cyber talent development, and secure digital transformation.
