Egypt, represented by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), participated at the expert level in the 8th Korea-Africa Economic Cooperation (KOAFEC) Ministerial Conference. The event was hosted in Seoul, South Korea, from September 8 to 11, through a partnership involving the African Development Bank, South Korea’s Ministry of Economy and Finance, and the Export-Import Bank of Korea.

The conference marked a significant milestone in the economic partnership between Korea and Africa. Established in 2006, KOAFEC has become a premier platform bringing together ministers, senior government officials, private sector representatives, and development stakeholders from both sides to share expertise and devise innovative solutions supporting digital transformation efforts across Africa.

This year’s conference was held under the theme "Leveraging AI and Digital Infrastructure for Africa’s Digital Transformation," reflecting a shift in the Korea-Africa partnership toward joint investment in digital technology, public digital infrastructure, innovation, and smart applications.

The agenda featured sessions on digital connectivity, public digital infrastructure, innovation, and smart applications across various sectors—including agriculture, health, education, finance, and public administration—alongside business meetings and cultural visits.
