Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) organised several campaigns on its online platforms, to raise employee awareness on health and safety during COVID-19, and to ensure the continuity of all services according to the highest international standards.
DEWA organised 70 awareness workshops and 54 consulting sessions online with the participation of 1145 employees. Through its internal channels, it published varied content to keep staff aware of all precautionary measures, health and safety practices and instructions of concerned authorities. DEWA also conducted 443 training programmes to follow up on staff training and development to maintain excellence standards during COVID-19.
“DEWA has undertaken all precautionary measures to ensure the health and safety of customers and staff to continue providing all services. Our state-of-the-art digital infrastructure has enabled our employees to continue their business as usual. They have undergone many training programmes to use technology to work remotely without any impact on our work process. Periodically, we review and align our strategy with the vision and directives of the wise leadership, to enhance our resilience and response in dealing with rapid developments, and redirect financial and human resources to raise productivity and competitiveness,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA.
DEWA provides information on physical distancing including tips on washing hands, wearing face masks and gloves and their disposal. This is in addition to FAQs on coronavirus, and to assist people of determination during this time.
DEWA applies strict precautionary measures that follow public health rules. These include disinfecting surfaces according to the highest health standards and provide sanitation equipment to workers at their accommodation, workplace and vehicles.
