The European Research Council (ERC) has published a page of job offers for Ukrainians in ERC-funded research teams, following an appeal to its 5,600 grantees to provide temporary employment to refugee researchers and research support staff, such as technicians and lab managers.

From jobs for PhD students in brain research, to lab assistants in the study of mammals, stellarphysicists and bioinformaticians, historians and economists, the page lists more than 500 opportunities in EU member states and partner countries including the UK and Israel. The page is regularly updated as new research opportunities come through.

Announcing the initiative last month, Mariya Gabriel, European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth, said: “This initiative is a demonstration of EU’s strong commitment and the openness of our R&I programmes to the participation of third countries. Involving ERC grantees in such an action towards Ukrainian peers adds to our willingness to support the EU-Ukraine alliance through research collaborations.”

The ERC, set up by the European Union in 2007, is the premier European funding organisation for excellent frontier research. It funds creative researchers of any nationality and age, to run projects based across Europe.
