    John Scheer, Executive Director of Technology at Sophos, the global company specialized in innovating and providing cybersecurity as a service, confirmed in response to a question from “Alam Rakamy” about the most important features of the company’s participation in the GITEX Global 2023 events exhibition, which is that it is showcasing its advanced solutions and services for cybersecurity, including It includes Sophos' Managed Detection and Response (MDR) solutions. The company is also showcasing its new service, Sophos Incident Response Retainer, which provides organizations with quick access to the incident response service - the first service of its kind in the sector due to its fixed cost, as it includes 45 days of managed detection and response around the clock. He explained that the largest technology exhibition in the region provides us with an ideal platform to showcase our best security solutions, meet our customers and partners, and enhance our channel network.

    Regarding the most important advantages of this service, he said that it allows Sophos’ event response specialists to quickly deal with cyber attacks, verify them, and begin correcting the situation immediately. The service also includes external vulnerability scanning capabilities and critical readiness guides that enable organizations to proactively improve security capabilities by identifying and resolving problems in a way that reduces the likelihood of a security breach occurring.

    In response to a question from “Alam Rakamy” about the company’s vision to reduce the electronic threats to which organizations are exposed via email, John said that Sophos focuses on its integrated platform for protection by providing cybersecurity as a service. It provides a unified interface for the security of email, cloud infrastructure, network, and endpoints, supported by intelligence technologies. Artificial intelligence, human threat analysis, and open APIs that integrate third-party tools with other cybersecurity providers to provide proactive protection and ensure customer peace of mind.

    Regarding the new agreements to enhance the company’s presence in the region, he said that Sophos signed an agreement with Starlink Company - one of the Infinigate Group companies - to become its distribution partner in the Middle East and the Levant. Starlink will distribute and market Sophos's advanced suite of solutions across its extensive network of channels, including Managed Detection and Response (MDR) and cybersecurity services for endpoints and messaging. This partnership is effective from November 20, 2023.

    He added that the partnership with Starlink prepares us to provide cybersecurity services to organizations in the Middle East. Cybercriminals are constantly enhancing their capabilities, while Sophos research shows that various attacks, including ransomware attacks, occur within an hour of gaining access to the network.
