The program enhances Egypt’s regional leadership and qualifies rare competencies in the field of automotive software in the Middle East and Africa

Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, witnessed the graduation ceremony of the first batch of the “Android Automotive” Academy, which provides a pioneering training program in the Middle East region in the field of software and application development on “Android” operating systems for cars (Android Auto and Android Automotive), in cooperation between the Information Technology Institute (ITI), Luxsoft International, and the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA).
This unique program resulted in qualifying 28 young Egyptians to become pioneers in this promising field, as they were all employed by Luxsoft, which confirms the quality of the program and its ability to meet the growing needs of the labor market.
Enhancing Egypt's export capabilities
Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, stressed that the graduation of a batch of specialists in embedded software for cars is an embodiment of the effective partnerships between the public and private sectors in the communications and information technology sector in order to qualify young people for future jobs by providing high-level specialized training according to the latest technologies and coupled with practical application, while working in parallel to enable them to obtain distinguished job opportunities, pointing out the keenness of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology to enhance Egypt's capabilities in the field of exporting research services and developing car software by providing young cadres specialized in this field, which is one of the high-value specializations in the field of information technology, which contributes to attracting more companies specialized in this field to the Egyptian market in light of the efforts made to develop the outsourcing industry and increase Egypt's digital exports.
Creating high-value job opportunities
For his part, Eng. Ahmed El-Zaher, CEO of the Information Technology Industry Development Agency, explained that the automotive industry technology sector is witnessing radical changes and transformations towards software-defined vehicles, which requires trained cadres and continuous development of skills to meet future technical needs.
He pointed out that the Authority works with global and local companies to identify market needs and enhance their business growth through specially designed programs, implemented in cooperation with partners from the public and private sectors. He added that the Authority’s cooperation with the global company “Luxsoft” and the Information Technology Institute aims to create high-value job opportunities for Egyptian youth, which contributes to the growth of the automotive software sector in Egypt as one of the main drivers of IT sector exports. This comes in light of the increasing global demand for Android Automotive solutions and applications, which this program has achieved with merit. 100% Employment of Trainees
For her part, Dr. Heba Saleh, Head of the Information Technology Institute, said that since the launch of our fruitful partnership with Luxoft and the Information Technology Industry Development Agency six months ago, the two technical teams have worked diligently to develop distinguished scientific content and select the best cadres to train and qualify them for the labor market, and applied projects that have greatly contributed to refining the skills of young people and confirming their readiness to work, which was achieved through their employment rates in the company that reached 100%, and we are now preparing a new batch and studying the possibility of expanding into new fields such as software quality management and cybersecurity, in order to ensure the readiness of our young engineers to face the increasing challenges of the labor market.
Developing applications and solutions for the Android system for cars
Engineer Amr Taher, Director of Luxoft Egypt, expressed his pride in participating in this distinguished event, which witnesses the graduation of a distinguished batch of creative engineers and developers. He stressed Luxoft’s pride in being part of this achievement in cooperation with its partners from the Egyptian government, represented by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), and the Information Technology Institute. He added, “I congratulate the graduates on their outstanding success in passing the training course and excelling in all its requirements and practical projects, which focused on developing applications and solutions for the Android system for cars, which qualified them to join the Luxoft team.” It is worth noting that DXC Luxoft has achieved strong successes in the automotive sector since the launch of its operations in Egypt. Work is underway between the Information Technology Institute, the global Luxoft company and "ITIDA" to prepare for the new phase, which will support the growth of the company's business and prepare generations of engineers specialized in this field, and thus increase job opportunities for young people and attract more investments looking for these distinguished cadres.
