    The activities of the first days of the third edition of the Techni Cairo Entrepreneurship Summit kicked off at the Egypt Digital Innovation Center “Cretiva” in the Sultan Hussein Kamel Palace. The activities began with opening speeches delivered by His Excellency the Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Dr. Amr Talaat, Ambassador Hokan Emsjord, the Swedish Ambassador to Cairo, and Tarek El-Kady, co-founder and CEO of Techni Summit, in the presence of a group of the most prominent figures, officials, specialists and entrepreneurs, especially young people and under the sponsorship of Media reporter for “Alam Rakamy ” newspaper.

    During his opening speech, Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, confirmed that the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology established Digital Egypt Innovation Centers to create a supportive climate for entrepreneurship and emerging companies, as 20 centers have been established so far as part of a plan aimed at reaching a center in every governorate. Explaining the efforts made to support entrepreneurs by working on several axes, which are providing an intensive set of capacity-building initiatives in various technological disciplines to provide the digital skills required by emerging companies, providing programs to train entrepreneurs, incubating their pioneering projects in Egypt’s Digital Innovation Centers, and facilitating procedures for establishing companies. Emerging and beyond.

    Dr. Amr Talaat added that the second phase of the Egypt Digital Creativity Centers deals with specialized centers, as two centers were started in the Knowledge City in the New Administrative Capital, one of which specializes in electronic design; Another specializes in assistive technologies. It is planned to launch an incubator specialized in the field of artificial intelligence in Cairo to provide an incubating environment for emerging and small companies working in this field.

     

    Dr. Amr Talaat praised the efforts made to organize this summit and host this distinguished crowd from the entrepreneurship community in Egypt, which contributes to enhancing the growth of the entrepreneurship climate and the prosperity of the innovation environment in the communications and information technology sector.

    For his part, Ambassador Hokan Emsjord, the Swedish Ambassador to Cairo, said he was happy to participate in the third edition of the Cairo Techne Summit 2024, after a decade of successful attendance in Alexandria, “This summit represents an effective platform for innovation and cooperation throughout the Mediterranean region. Sweden has been We have long been at the forefront of technological progress and sustainable development, and we are excited to share our expertise and strengthen our partnerships with Egypt and the wider region. We are now witnessing an expansion of cooperation between Egypt and Sweden in the field of artificial intelligence through some of our major Swedish companies, such as Ericsson and AstraZeneca. ".

    He added, “The Techni Summit embodies the spirit of cooperation and potential opportunities that arise when diverse minds come together to confront global challenges, especially in light of what is happening near the Egyptian border.     This year's edition comes under the auspices and in cooperation with the Ministries of Communications, Information Technology, Youth and Sports.     The Techni Summit is distinguished as a unique event that connects startups, investors and major companies in the technology industry, and plays a vital role in supporting ambitious entrepreneurs and promoting innovation and economic growth.

    The summit allows the presentation of the latest innovations, the exchange of ideas between participants, and the exploration of emerging trends in various sectors. This year, the summit hosts more than 300 speakers, 180 investors from more than 70 countries, and more than 500 startups, with an attendance of more than 25,000 people.
