The Ministers of Communications and Youth honor the heroes of the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games from the sons of Telecom Egypt

    Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, and Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports, honored the Egyptian heroes who won medals in the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games from the employees of Telecom Egypt and the players of the Telecom Egypt Club, in the presence of Dr. Hossam El-Din Mustafa, Chairman of the Paralympic Committee, and Eng. Mohamed Nasr, Managing Director and CEO of Telecom Egypt.

    The honoring included players working at Telecom Egypt and Telecom Egypt Club players, namely: Rehab Ahmed Radwan, who won the gold medal in weightlifting, Mohamed Sobhi El-Alfat, who won the silver medal in weightlifting, Nadia Fikry Mohamed, who won the bronze medal in weightlifting, Hesham Salah El-Shuwaikh, Motawa Abdel-Baqi Abu El-Khair, and Sayed Moussa Saad, who won third place and the bronze medal in volleyball, Randa Tag El-Din Mohamed, who won fourth place in weightlifting, Hany Mohsen Mohamed, Taha Mohamed Adel, and Amr Mohamed Farouk, who won sixth place in weightlifting, and Sherif Othman Khalifa, who won seventh place in weightlifting, in addition to Mohamed Eissa, the general supervisor of the club’s activities. The Egyptian mission succeeded in winning seven medals in this championship, three of which went to Telecom Egypt and Telecom Egypt Club, in addition to the strong participation of Telecom Egypt in the fourth medal in volleyball.     Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, praised the achievements of the Egyptian champions in the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games and their insistence on winning many medals and raising Egypt's name high in Paris, expressing his pride in the sporting achievement made by the Egyptian Telecom champions.

    Dr. Amr Talaat stressed the commitment of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology to support Egypt's champions and talents in various Paralympic games in cooperation with the Paralympic Committee, pointing to the role of the National Academy of Information Technology for People with Disabilities, which is a research and development center and a technological incubator for companies working in the fields of assistive technologies by adapting all elements of communications and information technology from software, devices and equipment to serve and support people with special abilities, adding that the academy provides advanced laboratories at the highest level for companies working in the field of assistive technologies to develop their software to become more capable of adapting to their users and thus providing the support they are looking for.

    Dr. Amr Talaat pointed out that the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology supports all creative and purposeful initiatives and ideas in the field of developing assistive technologies to support people with disabilities in order to build a better digital future for our children with disabilities and Egypt's Paralympic champions.

    Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports, expressed his pride in the achievements of Egypt's champions in the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games during the ceremony. He said: "We are proud of the honorable achievements of our Paralympic champions that reflect the spirit of determination and persistence. These achievements are not just medals, but rather a success story and a national epic that confirms the ability of our youth to achieve the best in all circumstances. We are working continuously to support our champions and provide them with the appropriate sports environment so that they can continue their journey and achieve more successes at the global level." He added, "Honoring our champions today comes within the framework of the ministry's strategy that focuses on supporting Paralympic sports and people with special abilities. They represent a role model for Egyptian youth in their challenge and determination to achieve goals. What these champions have achieved in Paris is a great achievement not only for Egyptian sports but also for Egyptian society as a whole. We will continue to provide them with all possible support to ensure that they continue to achieve success and present honorable performance in various international forums." The Minister of Youth and Sports stressed the importance of the partnership between the government and private sectors, praising the role played by Telecom Egypt in supporting athletes, whether by providing them with job opportunities or providing technical and logistical support to the Telecom Egypt Club, which contributed to strengthening Egypt's presence in the Paralympic Games and achieving these honorable results. Dr. Hossam El-Din Mustafa, Chairman of the Paralympic Committee, said that our champions made a great effort during the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games and were able to honor Egypt and achieve their goal with determination and perseverance, explaining that preparations for the Paralympic mission began two and a half years ago, and work with the national teams to qualify them for the Paralympic Games, where they qualified from local, continental, and world championships.

    He thanked the Ministers of Communications and Information Technology and Youth and Sports for their support for the Paralympic mission, praising the winning champions of Telecom Egypt.

    For his part, Eng. Mohamed Nasr, Managing Director and CEO of Telecom Egypt, said: "The Paralympic champions set the greatest examples of determination and challenge, and gave us hope in the ability of young people to shape a better future." He added: "Honoring our champions today comes from our firm belief in our role as a national company in supporting sports and athletes.
