WE INNOVATE Honors Winners of the National Cybersecurity Competition at Cairo ICT 2025

    Telecom Egypt and the National Computer Emergency Response Team (EG-CERT), in partnership with the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA), celebrated the winners of the National Cybersecurity Competition, sponsored by the National Bank of Egypt (NBE), through their WE INNOVATE initiative. The ceremony and awards presentation took place on the sidelines of the Cairo International Information Technology Exhibition 2025 (Cairo ICT).

    This partnership between Telecom Egypt (WE), the NTRA, and the NBE's generous support of the awards serves as a leading example of collaboration between the telecommunications and banking sectors to promote a secure digital economy and empower youth and entrepreneurs in the fields of innovation and cybersecurity.

    WE INNOVATE The event witnessed the announcement by the National Bank of Egypt (NBE) of financial prizes totaling EGP 1.2 million in support of the top winners. This underscores the bank's role as a strategic partner and key supporter of the cybersecurity innovation ecosystem in Egypt. The event was also attended by leaders from Telecom Egypt, the NTRA), and the NBE, along with prominent figures from the technology and entrepreneurship community. Extensive media coverage and interviews with the winning teams were also featured.

    Furthermore, the initiative announced the selection of several outstanding teams to represent Egypt at Black Hat 2025, one of the world's leading cybersecurity conferences, under the auspices of WE INNOVATE. This will provide them with unique opportunities for global exposure and professional growth.

    For his part, Eng. Tamer El Mahdy, Managing Director and CEO of Telecom Egypt, expressed his delight at honoring the winners today, noting that the WE INNOVATE initiative is no longer just an initiative but has become a comprehensive national system that supports Egypt's cybersecurity strategy and contributes to raising the country's readiness at all levels. He emphasized that since its launch, the initiative has successfully trained more than 5,000 young men and women, graduated more than 1,000 specialists, and launched more than 20 startups that have provided local solutions, helping to reduce reliance on imported licenses and strengthen national capabilities.

     

    Eng. Walaa Salah El Din, Advisor to the CEO for Innovation and Cybersecurity at Telecom Egypt, thanked the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA), the strategic partner of the WE INNOVATE initiative, represented by EG-CERT, as well as the National Bank of Egypt for its outstanding support, and the implementing partners, Entlaq. She affirmed that such cooperation is a true model for a secure and sustainable digital industry.
