a leading global online learning platform, today announced the launch of the 2025 edition of its Learner Outcomes Report, created in collaboration with The Harris Poll.
Coursera aims to help the world’s learners master the right skills to grow their careers. As technological disruption, economic uncertainty, and demographic shifts reshape the global labor market, fulfilling this responsibility has never been more urgent—or more within reach.
The Learner Outcomes Report provides valuable insights into the impact of online learning on career growth and personal development. Drawing from responses of more than 50,000 learners across 179 countries, including Egypt, the report assesses how Coursera is empowering learners to achieve their professional and personal goals.
With 48% of on-the-job skills in Egypt projected to change over the next five years, online learning has become a vital tool for reskilling and preparing for the digital economy. Reflecting this urgency, Coursera’s data show that 94% of learners in Egypt came to the platform to transform their careers, most often to secure their first job or advance in their current roles or fields.
Key findings for Egypt include:
● Positive career outcomes: 95% of learners in Egypt reported achieving a positive career outcome after completing a course on Coursera. More than half (56%) reported salary increases, 39% advanced to a higher job level, and 37% improved their performance at work.
● Personal benefits: 96% experienced a personal benefit, including greater confidence in their ability to learn, a stronger sense of accomplishment, and increased opportunities for career growth.
● Skills development: Learners also reported improved or developed critical technical and soft skills, including software development, data science, and AI, as well as critical thinking, problem solving, and creativity.
“Egyptian learners are seizing the opportunity to shape their futures, and these results highlight both their determination and the transformative impact of flexible, accessible online learning,” said Kais Zribi, Coursera’s General Manager for the Middle East and Africa. “Together with our university and industry partners, we are committed to equipping learners in Egypt with the skills needed to unlock career opportunities and foster a more skilled, innovative, and job-ready workforce.”
The report also highlights the promise of Coursera Coach, the platform’s AI-powered personalized learning guide, in enhancing the learning journey. Globally, 94% of learners who used Coach said it improved their experience—making it easier to grasp complex concepts, engage more deeply with content, and retain material.
The 2025 Learner Outcomes Report provides encouraging evidence that by combining trusted content with innovative learning tools, Coursera can help millions of learners worldwide build the skills required for long-term career success and personal growth.
