Samsung Unveils Next-Generation Smart Home Appliances at "Welcome to BESPOKE AI" Event for a Smarter and More Efficient Future

Samsung Electronics unveiled its latest range of home appliances during the press conference held as part of the global event "Welcome to BESPOKE AI," taking place simultaneously in three cities: Seoul, Paris, and New York, presenting its vision for enhancing the home living experience through integrating communication and interaction capabilities with devices, aimed at improving and simplifying daily life for users.
Jong-Hee Han, Vice Chairman & CEO of DX Division at Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd, kicked off the series of events in Seoul. "Our home appliances excel in providing expanded functions through the integration of AI, such as embedding screens in refrigerators, induction ranges, and washing machines, transforming dedicated appliances into entertainment platforms and control centers for other connected Samsung devices via SmartThings." BESPOKE AI Redefine Home Connectivity
Samsung's latest Bespoke AI devices feature integrated Wi-Fi networks, internal cameras, AI processors, and compatibility with the SmartThings app, paving the way for a fully equipped smart home. Additionally, the introduction of AI Home, a 7-inch LCD screen integrated into many products, provides easy and convenient access to control the fully connected ecosystem, aiding in efficiently completing household tasks. The Mobile Smart Connect feature also offers a new addition, sending instant alerts to the user's phone when in proximity to registered devices, providing a quick control panel to execute basic device functions directly from phones through the SmartThings app.
Samsung also unveiled the Calm Onboarding feature during the "Welcome to BESPOKE AI" event. Which is an innovative feature designed to facilitate the user's joining process to the Samsung connected system. It automatically links purchase operations made on Samsung.com with the SmartThings app using the same account credential data.
To enhance users' trust in connected home appliances, Samsung introduced the Knox security platform, ensuring the protection of all user data stored on connected devices. The French Bespoke refrigerator equipped with AI Family Hub™️ technology has been awarded the UL Solutions Diamond Level for its IoT security capabilities. Other models of the Family Hub and the Bespoke Jet Bot Combo™️ AI, which include this technology, also received the same rating.
New Capabilities with BESPOKE AI
The "BESPOKE AI" events kicked off in Seoul with a comprehensive range of products, featuring 14 new displays. These include the French 4-door refrigerator equipped with AI Family Hub™️ as a central hub for food management, with an AI interface, as well as AI Vision Inside technology, enabling food recognition. The multifunctional robotic vacuum cleaner relies on Bespoke Jet Bot Combo™️ AI, among other innovations.
Focusing on energy efficiency in the European market, the BESPOKE AI event in Paris introduced the latest energy-saving innovations, including a range of wide-bottomed freezer refrigerators and new washing machines, featuring an A energy efficiency rating according to European standards. Thanks to the AI-powered inverter compressor, the new washing machine range includes models that offer energy savings of up to A-10%, A-20%, and even an additional A-40% energy-saving model.
The Bespoke AI Laundry Combo™️ range, showcased in Seoul and New York, represents a versatile and innovative solution combining washer and dryer functions to maximize convenience and space-saving. With AI Opti Wash & Dry™️ technology, the AI Laundry Combo™️ range intelligently adapts washing and drying performance for each load, precisely distributing water and detergents based on the weight of the laundry and fabric type. Additionally, it uses fabric detection and adjusts detergent levels and wash times as needed, allowing users to easily track energy and water consumption through the report provided on the SmartThings app after completing the laundry.
The exclusively AI Home-equipped Bespoke Slide-in Range devices were unveiled in New York. This range features multi-purpose cooking devices that offer a range of entertainment features, such as an internal oven camera that allows users to capture short cooking videos, easily shareable on social media platforms.
Revolutionizing the Future of Appliances
Samsung is committed to enhancing Wi-Fi-connected devices through software updates and SmartThings development. The Company introduced the Smart Forward feature for the first time at the event, allowing users to easily monitor available update information and receive notifications through the SmartThings app, reducing the need for frequent device replacements.
Continuing its evolution, the SmartThings ecosystem enables users to further reduce their energy consumption post-purchase. Features such as Optimal Charging allow users to strategically manage their energy usage. With SmartThings Energy, users can easily monitor and control their energy consumption. Additionally, Samsung plans to introduce the new Samsung Rewards program soon, allowing users to earn daily stamps by achieving energy-saving goals using AI Energy mode. These stamps can be redeemed and used on Samsung.com, the Samsung Galaxy store, and other Samsung-affiliated purchasing platforms.
Samsung is forming multiple partnerships aimed at implementing solutions that lead to significant reductions in energy consumption while enhancing user convenience. Samsung collaborated with British Gas to integrate SmartThings Energy's Automatic Demand Response feature with the PeakSave feature for energy preservation. Among the methods introduced during the press conference is hybrid cooling, which integrates high-energy Peltier components alongside compressors to enhance cooling efficiency and performance, as well as low-maintenance filters for air purifiers.
Ensuring product safety remains a top priority for Samsung, with a commitment to obtaining certifications that demonstrate product reliability across all device categories and expanding their scope. This includes obtaining the Reduced Fire Risk (RFR) certification for new products, indicating that certified devices are designed to effectively mitigate fire incidents.
At the end of the event, Samsung unveiled its collaboration with the movie Inside Out 2 - scheduled for release on June 14 - from Disney and Pixar, aimed at highlighting the benefits of the new Bespoke AI Laundry Combo™️ range. A teaser video for the joint branding was presented, featuring clips from Inside Out 2, demonstrating how the new washer can alleviate laundry-related stress through AI Bubble™️ technology.
Samsung is set to unveil its strategy for integrating AI into home appliances by the end of this year, with Bixby, Samsung's voice assistant, playing a pivotal role in this initiative. It will interact more deeply, understanding complex sentences and engaging in natural conversations.
New Language Pack
Samsung has unveiled a new language pack designed to enhance communication for Galaxy devices users worldwide through Galaxy AI technologies. This update broadens the range of supported languages and dialects to include Arabic, Indonesian, and Russian, alongside three new dialects: Australian English, Cantonese, and Canadian French. These additions supplement the existing 13 languages, facilitating cross-lingual communication with unprecedented ease.
The language pack incorporates various features such as Live Translate, Interpreter, Chat Assist, and Transcript Assist. These features enable users to swiftly and effortlessly translate conversations, phone calls, text messages, and other forms of text into different languages and dialects.
This addition represents a significant advancement in enhancing user experience and fostering inclusivity. It underscores Samsung's dedication to delivering technological products that cater to the diverse needs of a global audience.
All new Galaxy devices support this pack, including the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy S23 and S23 FE series, Z Flip5, Z Fold5, and Tab S9 series (both 5G and Wi-Fi variants). Users can download this pack via their device settings, enabling them to utilize Galaxy AI features in their preferred languages.
