Mohamed Kamal Abdullah: Vodafone Egypt is a new stage to develop its services, with frequencies worth 540 million dollars

    Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, witnessed the signing of new frequency contracts for telecommunications companies, totaling $ 1.17 billion, and 40 MHz was allocated to Vodafone Egypt with TDD technology in the frequency space of 2,600 MHz for $ 540 million, signed by the National Telecommunication Regulatory Authority.     The signing of the agreement came after Vodafone Egypt acquired half of the frequencies in the bidding process carried out by the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA), with the aim of allocating new frequency bands with a width of 2 x 40 MHz in the frequency space of 2600 by TDD technology for companies licensed to provide mobile services in Egypt.

    Vodafone Egypt’s acquisition of new frequencies contributes to developing and raising the efficiency of the company's network infrastructure, which will lead to improving the quality of communications services provided to customers, and raising the degree of its readiness to provide future communications and information technology services, taking into account international quality standards, in line with the country's strategy to support operations Digital transformation.

    Mohamed Kamal Abdullah, CEO of Vodafone Egypt, thanked the Ministry of Communications, led by Dr. Amr Talaat, and the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, for their efforts in the process of introducing new frequencies to improve services provided to citizens, stressing that the new frequencies are a watershed point in the history of Vodafone in Egypt. ; Because it will allow to provide better quality in voice and data services to our customers, which will contribute to maintaining our leadership in the mobile sector in Egypt.

    For his part, Ayman Essam, Head of External and Legal Affairs at Vodafone Egypt, pointed out the importance of the company obtaining new frequencies as part of its plan to improve services for the company's customers with the best international standards, as it will raise the company's total frequency to 82.5 MHz, and thus contribute to Capacity increase .
