Minister of Communications inaugurates Commvault Global Center of Excellence in Cairo

    Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, inaugurated the Commvault Center of Excellence, an American company specialized globally in cyber resilience and data protection solutions, in Egypt; in the presence of Eng. Ahmed El-Zaher, CEO of the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), Sanjay Mirchandani, CEO of Commvault, and a large number of the company's executives.

    The company's center in Egypt aims to provide a variety of technical services and manage them in hybrid cloud systems for the company's clients in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa from Egypt, including technical support services, customer account management, and customer experience services.

    The new center relies on Egyptian competencies with technological expertise and multilingual skills to provide digital solutions that meet the growing requirements of its clients quickly and efficiently. The company plans to expand this center, which was established according to the highest international standards and allows for great scalability, as it has already contributed to providing many job opportunities in Egypt. The establishment of the center comes as part of Commvault's efforts to enhance cybersecurity resilience and support its customers in the region. Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, stressed that the decision of Commvault, a global leader in data protection, to choose Egypt as a destination for establishing its center of excellence reflects confidence in Egyptian competencies and skills specialized in high-value and highly in-depth fields such as cybersecurity, and also reflects the success of the efforts made to develop the outsourcing industry and provide a favorable environment to attract investments from global companies to the Egyptian communications and information technology sector; adding that the center will employ specialized digital competencies in a promising and globally in-demand field in light of the continuous increase in demand for cyber resilience solutions; pointing out that data protection has become a priority in the digital age with the increasing reliance on artificial intelligence, as data is the basis of this technology; Explaining the ministry's efforts in preparing specialized cadres in cybersecurity, as digital capacity building programs vary to include intensive education by granting bachelor's and master's degrees in cooperation with prestigious international universities to bridge the gap between supply and demand at the level of specialized human cadres in this field.

    For his part, Eng. Ahmed El-Zaher, CEO of the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), explained that Commvault's new Center of Excellence is a qualitative addition to the Egyptian IT sector, as it enhances the provision of high-value job opportunities by focusing on providing advanced digital solutions such as cyber resilience and data protection, reflecting the capabilities of distinguished Egyptian cadres that attract global companies to expand their operations in Egypt.

     

    He pointed out that the Authority seeks to enhance Egypt's position as a global center for IT services, which supports the growth of the outsourcing industry and increases investments in a sustainable manner.
