Tarek Haiba, General Manager of Dell Technologies in Egypt and Libya, in response to a question from “Alam Rakamy” about the company’s interest in qualifying local human cadres, confirmed that the company is one of the main players and participants in the initiative of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology to train specialists in the field of artificial intelligence, and that the company will continue to Its support for this important initiative to qualify and train about 1,000 specialists annually in the field of artificial intelligence technologies, in accordance with Dell Technologies’ vision of the importance of building a large local base of human resources specialized in “AI” according to the latest and highest standards, whether to meet the requirements of the local market or the global market.

He added that we are also cooperating with a number of public and private universities to provide all educational materials related to the latest technologies affiliated with the company, to qualify and train university students and give them the digital skills that the labor market needs, the most important of which are artificial intelligence, cloud computing, data analysis, and cybersecurity.

This came on the sidelines of the Dell Technologies Forum, which was held recently in Cairo, to be the most important annual event that brings together business leaders and sector experts in smart infrastructure, cloud computing technologies and services, data centers and cybersecurity, as the forum is held in about 44 countries around the world.

Data storage market

Regarding the share of Dell Technologies in the local data storage market, he said that according to Gartner statistics, Dell Technologies’ share in the Egyptian market exceeds 65% in data storage equipment, in the software and solutions market it exceeds 40% of the local market, and in the infrastructure market it reaches Its share is about 63%.

Promoting digital transformation

Regarding the most important sectors that Dell Technologies focuses on, Heiba explained that the company has huge and diverse cooperation through its local partners, with many economic and service sectors to enhance the digital transformation process and improve its services and products, most notably the government sectors, especially major national projects, and the financial sector. Banks, the petroleum sector, the communications sector, the higher education sector, the education sector, the health sector, in addition to private business institutions in the industrial and commercial sector.

He explained that given the importance of digital transformation as it has become a top priority for government agencies and companies in Egypt, Dell Technologies has renewed its commitment to providing its customers with advanced technologies that enhance business continuity and growth and increase their competitive capabilities locally and globally.
