The National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA) has launched a series of field awareness campaigns to introduce the "Itma'en" and "Itma'en Ala El Akhar" (Check on Others) services. These services, launched last July as part of the "Child SIM Card" services, aim to enhance children's online protection.
Both services offer advanced protection to limit children's access to harmful and inappropriate content. "Itma'en" ensures safe browsing and searching, and protects against websites hosting malware, viruses, and other cyber threats. "Itma'en Ala El Akhar" includes all the features of "Itma'en" and also blocks access to social media sites and applications.
The campaigns target families and parents directly to educate them about the services' benefits and how to use them, answer their questions, and assist them with activation through their mobile network operators' applications.
The campaign's first activities began with the awareness team visiting several libraries and shopping centers, given the high concentration of families and parents in these locations. This approach allows them to reach diverse segments of families and foster direct communication with them, in addition to distributing educational materials with detailed illustrations.
These campaigns are part of the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority's strategy to build a safe digital society by promoting awareness of the safe and responsible use of technology and communication services.
