Raya Holding for Financial Investments has officially introduced Raya Ventures, its corporate venture capital (CVC) arm, alongside the announcement of its first investment in Pidima, a UK-based enterprise AI software company. The milestone reinforces Raya Holding's commitment to supporting innovation, entrepreneurship, and long-term value creation.
Established in 2025, Raya Ventures invests in early-stage AI-focused and fintech startups from pre-seed to Series A. It takes an Egypt-first approach with a focus on the Middle East and Africa, and also backs international startups whose technology can serve these markets.
Operating as a separate legal entity with its own investment mandate, Raya Ventures goes beyond financial investment by connecting founders with Raya Holding's industry expertise, business ecosystem, and regional network, creating opportunities for strategic guidance, potential commercial partnerships, and business expansion.
As its first investment, Raya Ventures has backed Pidima, a UK-based enterprise AI software company founded in 2024, specializing in AI-enabled enterprise workflows and product lifecycle management.
Pidima helps organizations run complex operations through two core platforms: Workflow and Lifecycle. Pidima Workflow enables enterprises to orchestrate operational processes through AI-enabled workflows that support decision-making, task management, approvals, and execution across existing systems. Pidima Lifecycle connects everything behind a complex product, from requirements, design and architecture to code, testing and compliance, so teams build faster and know exactly how every change affects the rest.
Nanis El Essaily, Chief Investment Officer of Raya Holding, commented:
"At Raya Holding, our investment philosophy has always been centered on identifying opportunities, building businesses, and creating long-term value. Raya Ventures represents a natural extension of this approach, allowing us to engage with promising startups at an earlier stage and support the next generation of entrepreneurs. Our ambition goes beyond providing capital; we aim to connect founders with the expertise, business networks, and potential commercial opportunities that can help accelerate their growth and regional expansion."
She added, "Our first investment in Pidima reflects this vision and our commitment to backing innovative businesses that address real market needs. Pidima's AI-driven solutions have strong potential to transform complex enterprise operations, and we see significant opportunities to support its growth by leveraging Raya Holding's industry expertise, diversified business ecosystem, and regional network."
John Marcus, Founder and CEO of Pidima, said:
“Raya and Pidima share the same conviction: AI must deliver measurable value inside organizations, not stay in pilots. Raya brings a unique combination of operating companies across multiple sectors that act as scaling partners, and direct reach to the region’s largest enterprises. Together, we will make Pidima the AI platform for how enterprises across Egypt and the Middle East operate and build.”
