Kafrelsheikh University Hosts the Sixth Stop of the "Alam Rakamy" Initiative: "Innovation... Your Path to Success"

  • By: Wael Magdy
Dr. Osama Abu Saada, Dean of the Faculty of Computers and Information, emphasized the
importance of this seminar—organized by the “Alam Rakamy” newspaper in collaboration with
the Faculty—which aims to introduce students to the scholarships and initiatives offered by the
Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) to support and qualify
students and entrepreneurs. He noted that Kafrelsheikh University supports all initiatives
designed to enhance the expertise and skills of its students, particularly those related to
entrepreneurship, in light of the state’s focus on digital transformation.
This took place during the 19th edition of the "Innovation... Your Path to Success" initiative,
organized by “Alam Rakamy” for the nineteenth consecutive year across various universities.
The event was held under the patronage of Prof. Yahya Zakaria Eid, President of the University,
and Prof. Amani Mohamed Shaker, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental
Development. It was attended and supervised by Prof. Osama Mohamed Abu Saada, Dean of
the Faculty of Computers and Information, and Dr. Reda Mabrouk, Vice Dean for Postgraduate
Studies and Research. The seminar was moderated by journalist Khaled Hassan, Editor-in-Chief
of “Alam Rakamy”, and featured contributions from Faten El-Khouly, Executive Director of the
initiative, and Engineer Fahmy Ibrahim, a representative from the Technology Innovation and
Entrepreneurship Center (TIEC) under the Information Technology Industry Development
Agency (ITIDA), which operates under the Ministry of Communications and Information
Technology. The forum aims to prepare students from the Faculty of Computing for the labor
market by connecting them with the industry. This is achieved by inviting major
companies—active in various fields of computer science and information systems—to deliver
lectures on the skills and tools they require in graduates, thereby increasing the students'
    chances of securing employment.
For his part, journalist Khaled Hassan, editor-in-chief of the newspaper "Alam Rakamy",
emphasized that anyone wishing to enter the world of entrepreneurship should not wait for
ideal conditions. Instead, they should begin with what they have, learn from every step, and
dedicate time, effort, determination, and persistence to their dreams. He noted that success is
not measured by how quickly one reaches a goal, but rather by the depth of the experience, the
steadiness of one's progress, and the endurance of one's passion. He explained that Egyptian
technology startups succeeded in attracting new financial investments exceeding $600 million
in the first half of 2026. Between 2020 and 2025, these companies secured approximately $2.1
billion in foreign investment—sourced from venture capital (VC) funds, angel investors, regional

firms, and crowdfunding platforms—placing Egypt first in Africa and third in the Middle East.
This achievement reflects the significant attention the Egyptian state has dedicated to
supporting and encouraging startups. This commitment spans from the Office of the President
to the Cabinet, which established a dedicated committee to address challenges faced by
startups. Furthermore, the state has launched several venture capital funds to provide
accessible financing for startups and innovators, while also expanding the establishment of
specialized technology incubators that offer logistical support to startups in their early stages.
He added that the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology has implemented a
project to roll out "Creativa" (Egypt Digital Innovation Hubs) centers across various
governorates. Approximately 24 such centers have been established, with an investment cost
reaching 5.8 billion EGP. He noted that these centers are being integrated into public
universities throughout the governorates to provide technical training, foster technological
innovation, and promote entrepreneurship among students and graduates, thereby creating an
    environment conducive to nurturing innovators.
Supporting innovative ideas and fostering digital creativity is a key pillar of Egypt’s current
digital transformation strategy—a strategy adopted and implemented by the Ministry of
Communications and Information Technology. The initiative aims to develop and provide new
technological solutions capable of addressing societal challenges, driving comprehensive and
sustainable economic development, and transitioning toward a digital economy that
encourages knowledge-based industries—ultimately leading to an improved quality of life for
    citizens.
