Marwa Abbas: Outlining Raya Information Technology’s Vision for AI and Data Centers at Cairo ICT 2026

  • by: Sarah Nour El-Din
Raya Information Technology is set to drive business growth in the coming years by expanding
its focus on artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity, data centers, cloud computing, and
managed technology services. This strategy goes hand-in-hand with the ongoing development
of its solutions portfolio and the strengthening of its presence across regional markets. Amidst
rapid technological transformation, the company prioritizes aligning digital solutions with the
specific operational and investment goals of organizations, ensuring that technology
investments translate into tangible business value.
In an interview with "Alam Raqamy" on the sidelines of the 30th edition of the Cairo
International Technology Exhibition and Conference (Cairo ICT 2026), Marwa Abbas, CEO of Raya
Information Technology, outlines the company’s strategy regarding AI, automation,
cybersecurity, and digital infrastructure. She discusses the role of the company’s technology
partnerships in developing integrated solutions, as well as her vision for cultivating specialized
talent, expanding service offerings, and fostering growth opportunities in Egypt and the broader
    region.
    # What are the primary technological solutions that Raya is showcasing at Cairo ICT 2026, and
how do they reflect the company’s strategic direction for the period ahead?
    - During our participation in Cairo ICT 2026, we are showcasing an integrated ecosystem of
solutions that reflects Raya Information Technology’s commitment to meeting the demands of
the new phase of digital transformation. The needs of modern enterprises have evolved beyond
simple system upgrades; they now encompass the deployment of artificial intelligence, the
development of new operating models, the enhancement of digital resilience, and the
construction of an infrastructure capable of supporting advanced computing requirements.
Through our expanded partnership with Cisco, we are presenting solutions for artificial
intelligence, data centers, smart workspaces, digital resilience, customer experience, and
offerings tailored for telecommunications service providers. Furthermore, in collaboration with
Diebold Nixdorf—as part of the PAFIX exhibition—we are showcasing the latest ATM and self-
service technologies, alongside Diebold Nixdorf’s retail solutions, which have been recently
    added to Raya’s portfolio.

    # How do Raya Information Technology’s solutions support the digital transformation of public
and private sector organizations in Egypt?
    - We support the digital transformation of organizations across all sectors by aligning
technology investments with the enhancement of actual organizational performance—going
well beyond the simple implementation of new systems. We begin by understanding the nature
of the business and its operational challenges, identifying areas where technology can deliver
the greatest value—whether by reducing process costs, accelerating service delivery, improving
decision-making accuracy, or enhancing the quality of the customer experience.
We place a high priority on integrating our solutions into existing work environments, allowing
organizations to develop their capabilities incrementally without the need for a complete
system overhaul or any disruption to ongoing operations. Furthermore, we provide flexible
solutions tailored to the specific nature of each sector; the requirements of financial
institutions, government entities, telecommunications providers, and industrial firms differ
significantly in terms of service nature, operational scale, and regulatory compliance.
Our role extends well beyond the initial implementation phase. Through ongoing operations,
management, support, and continuous improvement services, we help organizations keep pace
with their evolving needs and maximize the return on their technology investments. We believe
that the success of digital transformation is measured by the tangible improvements it brings to
an organization’s way of working and its ability to deliver superior services—not by the sheer
number of systems or technologies it possesses.
    # What are the most prominent challenges facing the technology, telecommunications, and
financial sectors in light of rapid technological acceleration, and how can they be addressed?
    - The primary challenges include the rapid pace of technological evolution, escalating
cybersecurity requirements, the need to modernize existing infrastructure and systems, and the
imperative to realize tangible returns on digital investments. Organizations also face the
challenge of selecting solutions that align with their actual needs, ensuring that technological
expansion does not lead to increased operational complexity or difficulties in system integration.
In the financial and banking sectors, information security, service continuity, and system
reliability are of growing importance—all while customer demands shift toward faster, more
flexible digital services. Meanwhile, organizations in other sectors require a technological
infrastructure capable of supporting growth and expansion, while maintaining operational
    efficiency and data protection.
Addressing these challenges requires a combination of appropriate infrastructure, robust
security solutions, and specialized technological services, supported by sound planning for
modernization and development. Furthermore, artificial intelligence and automation can

contribute to enhanced efficiency, provided they are deployed in alignment with clear
    objectives and specific requirements.
